How to set up Surfshark on Apple TV


In this article, you will learn how to install the Surfshark VPN app on your Apple TV OS 17.


You will need a TV with Apple TV OS 17 or later and an active Surfshark subscription, which you can purchase on the Surfshark pricing page.

 

You will learn how to:

  2. Connect to the VPN
  3. Manage Surfshark locations

Log in to the app

To begin with, download the Surfshark app on your Apple TV device and install it.

  1. Once the installation is complete, you can either click Open or find the Surfshark icon in the installed apps menu and press on it.

  2. Press Log in or Continue with Apple.

    Alternatively, you can log in using the Surfshark app on your mobile device. To do that, open your phone's camera and take a picture of the QR code, or enter the code seen under the QR code into another device where you're already logged in by going to Settings>My account>Enter login code.


  3. Enter the email address and password you used when registering and click Log in.

 

Connect to the VPN

 

When you log in, you will see the homepage of the Surfshark app. Here, you can see the VPN connection status and the list of locations.

  1. In order to connect to a location, select a location of your choice and click on it.


  2. When connecting to a VPN server for the first time, you will have to add VPN configurations by pressing Allow on the pop-up.


  3. Now you're connected. Here, you'll be able to see your new IP address alongside the option to Disconnect. (mark it here)

 

Manage Surfshark locations

Surfshark has 3200+ servers in 100 countries. Choose the server, click on it, and that's it.

You will find the list of locations at the bottom of your screen. Use the search option to find the location of your choice, or scroll right.


Favorite locations

 

The Surfshark app also allows you to choose your favorite locations, which then appear at the top of the locations list. The app allows you to do it in two ways:

  1. Click on a location of your choice.


  2. Click on the star icon on the left.

  3. Alternatively, long press on a location to add or remove it from your favorite list.

 

If you have Surfshark's Dedicated IP, you'll be able to find it the location's list.

 

Manage Surfshark settings

Click on the Settings tab at the top of the Surfshark app.


Here, you'll be able to do the following:

  • Log out
  • Delete your account
  • Report a bug
  • Read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service



Troubleshooting connectivity issues

 

In case you face connectivity issues, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings on your AppleTV device.


  2. Select Network.


  3. Click on Connection Details.


  4. Click on Delete VPN.


  5. Confirm by pressing Delete in the pop-up.


  6. Try connecting to the VPN again.
