How to fix website/app login issues

In this tutorial, you will learn how to fix some common Surfshark website/app login issues.

We will cover the following:

'Too many login attempts error'

If you get this error, it's most likely that your IP address was temporarily blocked after several unsuccessful attempts to log in. Here is how you can solve this:

  • If you are using a mobile device, change the network. For example, switch to cellular data from Wi-Fi.

  • If the error continues when you connect to Surfshark VPN, disconnect from it or switch to another server.

  • Try waiting for 10 minutes. Usually, an IP address is blocked for 10 minutes after several unsuccessful login attempts.

  • If you are using a desktop device and this issue continues to happen, try sharing a network connection from your mobile device to your desktop. See how to use a mobile hotspot.

  • Restart your router. If you have a dynamic IP, you will most likely be assigned a new IP address after that.

If the issue persists, the login with the code method should resolve it.

 

Surfshark VPN app login issues

 

Here is what should help if you are unable to log in to your Surfshark app:

  • If you have another VPN running, disconnect from it.

  • Try to log in to your account on the Surfshark login page. Make sure your credentials are correct.

    NOTE: If your password turns out to be incorrect, you can reset it. To change your email address, contact the Surfshark Customer Support agents.

  • If you are using a mobile device, change the network. For example, switch to cellular data from Wi-Fi.
  • Reinstall the Surfshark app, restart your device, and try to log in again.


I can't log in with Apple

 

On your first time logging in with Apple, you will not be able to log in if you select the Hide my email option. In this case, we can’t identify if this account is registered, so the system is unable to proceed with the login request. Once you select the Hide my email option, you won’t be seeing the email option window anymore.


Please follow the steps below to change the option from Hide my email to Show my email:

  1. Open the Settings on your device.

  2. Select Apple ID.

  3. Go to Password & Security.

  4. Click on Apps using Apple ID and select Surfshark from the list.

  5. Click on Stop using Apple ID.

  6. Try logging in to Surfshark with Apple again and choose the Show my email option.

 

Surfshark website login issues

If you can not log in to your account on Surfshark login page, here is what you may try:

  • If you are connected to Surfshark VPN when this issue happens, disconnect from it or connect to a different server.

  • Try to log in on the Incognito (private browsing) mode of your browser. Normally, you can launch the Incognito mode by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+N or CTRL+SHIFT+P on your keyboard.

Surfshark browser extension login issues

If you can not log in to your Surfshark browser extension, here is what should help:

  1. If you are connected to the VPN using the Surfshark VPN app, disconnect from it or connect to a different server.

Can't reach Surfshark systems

 

If you are receiving an error, ‘the app was unable to reach the Surfshark systems,’ try updating the app. To update the application, download VPN for Windows and launch the installer package.


NOTE: This issue commonly occurs on Windows devices, typically due to an outdated version of the Surfshark application that prevents login attempts.
