How to enable 2FA for multiple users

This tutorial will show you how to enable 2FA (two-factor authentication) on your Surfshark account for multiple users.


NOTE: In case you have lost access to your authentication codes, check our article on what are 2FA recovery codes.

  1. Log in to your account at Surfshark login page.

  2. Open your Surfshark Account Settings.

  3. In the Two-factor authentication section, click Edit.

  4. Click on Turn off 2FA.

  5. Confirm the pop-up by pressing Yes, I'm sure.

  6. Make sure that all of your family members who wish to use Surfshark have downloaded the Google Authenticator app on their mobile devices. You can also follow our guide on how to enable 2FA on your Surfshark account.

  7. Click Edit again, and select your preferred security method.

  8. When the pop-up with a QR code shows up, click the red bubble on your Google Authenticator app and choose the Scan a barcode option. Then, your phone's camera app will open.

  9. Point it to the QR code, and the application will automatically register it. A new authentication profile will then be created.

  10. Scan the same QR code with the phones of other family members.

  11. Download or take a screenshot of the recovery codes.

    NOTE: Save your recovery codes. They will be necessary if you lose your phone or accidentally delete the Authentication app.
