What are Captcha requests?
A CAPTCHA is a type of security feature used on websites and online forms to determine whether the user is a human or a computer program (often referred to as a "bot"). The term "CAPTCHA" stands for "Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart."
Why am I receiving Captcha requests?
When you connect to a Surfshark server, you get a new IP address, which is also used by other Surfshark customers. With many active customers, there is a high chance of you trying to access the same website with the same IP address as other customers.
This will usually cause the Captcha prompt to pop out, as the website finds multiple connection requests from the same IP address suspicious. This means you have to keep clicking the "I am not a robot" button or select the requested pictures every time that happens.
How can I bypass Captcha requests?
- Try connecting to a different server. This reduces the chance of you accessing the same website with the same IP address as a different Surfshark customer.
- If you wish to stay on the same server you are currently on, try disconnecting from it and connecting again. Usually, you will get a different IP address, which will also likely resolve the issue.
- Get Dedicated IP. Dedicated IP is a unique IP address only you can use. Having such an IP address helps avoid captcha prompts.
