How to configure custom DNS on a Windows 7 device

In this article, you will learn how to edit, add, or remove the DNS settings on your Windows 7 device.

Do the following to configure custom DNS on your Windows 7 device:

  1. Go to the Start menu and select the Control Panel.

  2. Here, you will find the Network and Sharing Center tab. Click on it.

  3. Select your primary connection or Local Area Connection under Active Networks.

  4. Click on Properties. You may receive a prompt for permission to make network setting changes here. If so, click Allow.

  5. Highlight the Internet Protocol Version 4 section, and click on Properties.​

  6. Select Use the following DNS server addresses, type in the following DNS addresses, and click OK.

    162.252.172.57
    149.154.159.92
